Bio

Brenda Bledsoe has lived most of her life in Wyoming and Colorado, and now resides in Daphne, AL.  She has been playing the guitar and flute since grade school, and currently performs throughout the Gulf Coast area with a new band, Gypsy Spark, featuring Jimmy and Talia Lumpkin.   "The culture and people of lower Alabama have inspired me to write and grow as an artist. We are quickly evolving into a hotbed of original  'Southern roots'-style music, with world-class production talent in the area.  The greatest gift as a performer is when listeners not only hear, but also feel my songs."

Brenda has been a songwriter for over 10 years, inspired by the places she has lived, and the interesting people who have impacted her life.  She has a crystal clear voice with an Americana/folk style, and sings with heart-felt intensity.  Local fans often refer to her as "Emmy Lou", with a soft, soulful voice that has been compared to Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks.  Her favorite artists include Eilen Jewell, Brandi Carlile, Allison Krauss, and Fairhope-based artists, Molly Thomas and Jimmy Lumpkin, front-man for GypsySpark.

Brenda was a featured singer-songwriter at The Listening Room of Mobile, for the 2018 South Sounds Music Festival. She recently recorded her single, Prairie Fire,  at Ocean Way Studios in Nashville.  GypsySpark is releasing their debut album in July, 2019.  Please join her mailing list at the bottom of the HOME page for performance times and contact info.
